Who's got the wheel

      There’s a stunning scene in Steven Spielberg's movie “Lincoln.” He is in the war room with his cabinet re-emphasizing his insistence of passage regarding the 13th amendment, the abolition of slavery. His cabinet is in disarray. Congress is divided. In frustration of the malaise from his own secretary’s inability to lobby congress signaled the likelihood of failure in the legislature. Lincoln saw the beacon of righteous light dim in their eyes. This impasse had reached it’s fevered pitch. What Abraham Lincoln did in this moment altered the history of the world.
