How to know if God is real
I've challenged many to honestly pray, ask God if He is there, and if so...help guide them to know what they should do.
The bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11 He (God) has set eternity in their hearts.
I have come to believe that every person comes into this life with a natural desire to know God. Pascal wrote that in every heart their is a God shaped hole that only God can fill.
All people, from all walks of life and cultures, will at one time or another think about eternity and the possibility of standing before the creator. It may be when they were very young and soon forgotten...but not long forgotten. The urge to look heavenward and revisit the question of God and eternity may surface many times in life.
Exodus 34 The LORD!
The God of compassion and mercy!
I am slow to anger
and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.
7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations.
I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin.
God doesn't make us seek him, nor does he enslave us to Him. In His love He has prepared a sacred place in our heart which yearns to be filled with His presence. He calls to us throughout the journey of our lives to invite Him in; to sit and dine with us.
No matter who you are or what you have done God still loves you and longs to fill your emptiness with His fullness.
Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Any search for God that is guided by the heart will lead us to the cross. It is there that we learn about love, redemption and one other very special God fashioned desire: Forgiveness
1 John 4:10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
God doesn't play hide and seek with you. If anything, we act as if we can hide from Him. Truth is...God is so much in love with you that He has set the frequency of all creation to call your name and draw you into His loving embrace; that you may know Him...and know peace and rest.
Ephesians 1:7 (MSG) Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.
