Beatification, Saints & Intercession
Beatification (from Latin beatus, blessed) is a recognition accorded
by the Catholic Church of a dead person's entrance into Heaven and
capacity to intercede on behalf of individuals who pray in his or her
name (intercession of saints). Beatification is the third of the four
steps in the canonization process. A person who is beatified is given
the title "Blessed".

If Pope John Paul III could talk to us now, what would he say?
What would he say about the beatification of his life?
Would he be excited about the opportunity for people to pray to him as
Saint John Paul III, to intercede on their behalf?
(Early scholars called this concept into question. The idea of double intercession emerged into the debate of the beatification of Mary. When petitioned, deceased Saints would pray to Christ who in turn intercedes for us. This became an unsubstantiated theme during the middle ages, circa 500AD.)
On this side of glory, we see through a glass darkly. On the other
side of glory, we know even as we are known as we see Him face to face.
Scripture says our intercessor to the father is Jesus Christ the
righteous. It is an earned position, one that the father has awarded
to the advocate that speaks for the believer. He is no ordinary
advocate. He, Christ, lived among us in human form, exposed to sin and
temptation, and died in our place sinless and pure. By achieving
victory over sin, death, and hell, He became the captain of our souls.
Hebrews 2:9-10 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the
angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that
He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are
all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of
their salvation perfect through sufferings.
We pray to the father through Him because in Christ we have an
advocate who intercedes to the father on our behalf. He is the one who has won the
right to do so. His love captured me; His blood bought me; and His
resurrection rescued me.
Hebrews 7:24-26 ...because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
He is the first born from the dead. The fullness of God's glory
dwells in Him. God listens to the Son because of obedience to Him.
What does the Son say to the Father on our behalf? ...Under the Blood!
1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so
that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate
with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
This is a new day. Church practice from the dark ages of ignorance,
illiteracy, and ulterior motive is over. This is a golden opportunity
for the church to recognize Christ as central and all-sufficient to
priesthood, sainthood, and eternal life.
Colossians 1:26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and
from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.
