Living for Him...outside the camp

Hebrews 13:13 Let us, then,
go to him outside the camp,
bearing the disgrace he bore.

 Keys …

 Lunch …

 Coffee money …

 Phone …

 Pants …

Cross...

Where did I lay that cross down?

Oh…still carrying it.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

This has always been a haunting verse for me. No matter how you dissect the verse, you can't take the sting out of it.

In the many check lists that we have in our work for Christ, there's one item that we need not worry about. The cross! It can't be misplaced. It will find you.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Yes…the cross of Christ. Living for Him envelopes living like Him.

Philippians 3:10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

The suffering He endured was because He went outside the lines, out of the comfort zone, beyond the norm. Why, because norm wouldn't cut it. For the joy set before Him, He endured OUR cross, tearing down walls, making a way for us.

In the midst of persecution, a sense of peace like none other exist for the ones carrying their cross for Him, enduring His suffering, and bearing His marks.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, (2 Timothy 3:12)

You're in good company. They hated me...they will hate you, (Luke 21:17)

When the weight of the cross bears down, clutter of this world falls off like scales. The burden of sin, which hinders our race, is discarded under the blood.

Simon the Cyrene waits to lift the load and wipe the brow when the heaviness causes trembling.

Ministering angels stand attentive.

Carry His banner.

Lift up his cross!

By it, those who look shall live and find eternal life.

Make your legacy a living memorial as the one who carried His cross, shared His love, seeking the lost.

Rest in the company of the cloud of witnesses, enduring the cross… to sit down at the right hand of God.

  1. With Christ, the cross, and all it means is all the hope we need to face each day. Without the cross, our lives are futile and lost. We commit each day to the Lord. Whether it is financial, physical, spiritual, or emotional we know He knows us and what we need. After all, he has numbered each hair on our heads, and He knows those that have fallen out. Keep focused on Christ as I know you are and let Him lead. God Bless, Uncle Don
