Delay
Daniel was a devout man of God. Some have said that apart from our Lord Jesus he was the most Godly man in the bible. When he prayed...angels were dispatched and kings trembled. God used him to shape an entire pagan nation. Millions of lives were spared because of his righteous and firm stand.
On one occasion, Daniel prayed for God to show him when the time would be completed for his people. How much longer did they have to endure the captivity of Babylon? He was anxious to see the fulfillment of Jeremiahs prophecy, a return to their home, Israel.
When the Angel came to Daniel, he said something very interesting.
Daniel 10:12
Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days.
Michael the Archangel was sent to Daniel the day he began to intercede for Israel but the adversary hindered the dispatch. The answer came but with a 21 day delay.
Jesus said that the gates of hell could not resist the forward march of Gods people, however it is good to be reminded that the adversary does exist. We are met with resistance when we least expect it, or it may seem that our praying has gone unheard.
Daniels answer came but not in Daniels time, in Gods. Every experience or delay should never be a "give up" signal. Perhaps its a wait....be still...God is at work. When God moves on behalf of His people, the hearts of saints are renewed and the heads of adversaries roll. The important thing for us to do is keep praying and watch.
Don't allow the anxiousness of life swallow you up. God has it all under control.
Peter and Paul, as they rested behind bars, trusted in a rhyme and reason for all their trouble and they never backed down.
The Apostle wrote...."we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken. What they did to Jesus, they do to us—trial and torture, mockery and murder; what Jesus did among them, he does in us—he lives!"

Its important to note that the
work of God is never thwarted
and that means His work in your life!
