Life...is in the blood
Leviticus 17:11
For the life...is in the blood, it is the blood that makes atonement
for one's life.
Listening to doctors and physicians talk all day about hemanalysis
reminds me that indeed the power is in the blood.
A single drop of blood can provide enough medical information to
diagnosis practically every condition.
We all know that its impossible to sustain physical life without blood. It brings life giving oxygen and protein and antibiotics (etc.) to the entire body. What about Spiritual life? Our scripture says that... Life, is in the blood. Spiritual life, everlasting life, is in the precious blood of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the riches of God's grace
The verse in Leviticus is referring to the animal sacrifice that was required from
worshipers. Atonement for sin called for a costly and living sacrifice.
During the days of atonement, the children of Israel
approached the High Priest in the temple with their spotless lamb. The
hyssop branch was used to sprinkle the blood of the lamb on the penitent sinner. Sin was now atoned... for a full year.
The Messiah, Jesus Christ the righteous, came as the lamb of God which
takes away the sin of the whole world.
On the cross He bled and died. By His sacrifice, and by His blood, He atoned for your sin
and mine, one time and for all time.
Scripture also teaches us that without the shedding of blood there is
no forgiveness of sins.
Romans 3:25
God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding
of his blood—to be received by faith.
The medical value from hematology are endless. It seems that every
report I hear or medical conference I attend, the issue is THE BLOOD, the blood, the blood
listen with your heart as you read Hebrews 9:12-14 from the message translation.
