The Ancient of Days
The Ancient of Days
This expression is applied to Jehovah three times in Daniel's vision
(Daniel 7:9, 13, 22) in the sense of being eternal. In contrast with
all earthly kings, God's days are past reckoning.
Easton Bible Dictionary
Daniel 7: 7 "After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there
before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very
powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims
and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all
the former beasts, and it had ten horns.
It's easy to get caught up in the tangled web of this world with all
it's worries, conflicts, and disappointments. Unchecked, it can leave
us disheartened and hopeless. That's why it's so important to be
reminded of the awesomeness of God.
Daniel saw in his vision ALL the kingdoms of earth unfold before his
very eyes. All the kings, with all their little armies and all their
little plans appeared in this vision. These kingdoms outlined the
world empires that would appear to the end of time. From Babylon to
Rome, and even the last 10 nation alliance with the Antichrist in the
lead.
These visions were disturbing to Daniel, especially as he saw the
godlessness of the ages. Just like Daniel, we too are disturbed beyond
words by the reports of Christian persecution and evil influences of
today. Catastrophic events, wars, pestilence, genocide, and even
spiritual warfare dominate today's news. Tack on top of this, economic
uncertainty. At times, we feel alone, abandoned, and maybe even
frightened.
What are we to do or think?
We keep reading the word...
Daniel 7: 9 "As I looked,
thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.
22 until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced
judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High,
and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.
The Ancient of Days. A phrase used by Daniel alone. He saw the cosmic
King of the Universe. Our God. Our king. Our Savior and Lord come in
all His power and glory and assume the rule and reign of heaven &
earth, for all ETERNITY.
Everything is in Gods plan and purpose for this age and the age to
come. The Ancient of Days. He is here now ruling in your heart and
mine. I am His and He is mine. HE WILL NEVER LEAVE OR FORSAKE US.
Remember the words of Christ. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither
let it be afraid.
God is in control...
...He always has been
...and always will be. End of discussion !
